Summary of Members meeting – Tuesday 10-April-2018

It was fantastic to see 50 plus WSC members last Tuesday night discussing the future of the Club.   Thanks to those people and we look forward to having all members involved.
We are all custodians of this great Club so the engagement and input of so many members at this first gathering to discuss the strategic direction of the club was incredibly positive and rewarding.
People being involved by sharing their thoughts and ideas on how we can all contribute to maximising the potential of the Club, will make the club great again.
We encourage you all to provide your ideas and feedback. We welcome contributions from Class Associations and like minded interest groups – including paddlers.
Please get together and formulate ideas on how you can contribute to the strength of your class/ group within the Club.
This is how you can all be part of the conversation about the future of the club:

WSC – Staffing

Dear Members,
We have been advised by Manny Scott, our current Sailing School Manager and Fleet Maintenance Co-ordinator, that he will be travelling overseas and pursuing some competitive sailing opportunities. Manny departs the Club in two weeks time.
On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Manny for his time with WSC and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
As you will be aware we are currently undertaking a strategic review of our business along with a review of our structures and resourcing. As part of this process we are about to go to market with a new, senior role that encompasses all the key sailing responsibilities – Race and Event Management, Sailing School and the Water sports/SUP/Kayak business.
We will advertise widely and a copy of the advertisement has been posted on the website:

Activities for Sunday May 13 2018

Dear Members,
Unless otherwise advised by your Class rep, tomorrow’s Winter Series Training is off due to the adverse forecast. Some classes (eg Tasars and Moths) will still hold specific training sessions, but all other classes will not be training or racing.
On-land activities are planned for Sailing School participants.
Wishing all mums a warm and happy Mother’s Day!
Yours in Sailing and Paddling
The WSC Team
